We Are Proud to Be Nashville's Hardwood Experts
Hardwood flooring continues to be a popular option in homes and other residential settings. Why? For one thing, hardwood offers natural character that is simply unmatched. We at Buddy Allen Carpet One are therefore happy to offer one of the Nashville area’s best selections of hardwood. We offer real, high-quality hardwood; not the cheap hardwood you’ll find at big box stores. So, it’s no surprise that we are your neighborhood hardwood experts.
There are two different hardwood flooring options: solid and engineered. Solid hardwood is the more traditional option, and it is made from genuine strips of wood and nothing else. There is no special construction; rather, solid wood planks are made from one strip of wood. Solid hardwood planks are strong and thick, and they usually can be refinished multiple times. Engineered hardwood flooring, however, is made from different wood layers, so it is more dimensionally stable than solid hardwood. How? The layers are pressed together in different directions, and this counteracts wood’s natural tendency to expand. Engineered hardwood therefore can be installed below, on, or above ground, whereas solid hardwood is recommended for on ground.
When it comes to style, hardwood is extremely versatile. Virtually every wood species is available, including popular choices such as oak and even hickory. Plus, hardwood can be finished with or without gloss, so you have the opportunity to add extra shine to your home setting. Be sure to work with one of our design experts to see exactly how a new hardwood floor will look in your home. Whether you are looking for a rustic design or something more modern, we’ve got you covered!
